After some years as a social worker working with children and families, I worked in industry. I then obtained a Master's degree in Gestalt Psychotherapy and have worked as a psychotherapist and counsellor for over 16 years.
I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and am a Snr. Accredited Counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also have a Masters in Creative Writing. I feel creativity is an important aspect of our lives, we each find our own way of expressing it -through writing or gardening, bringing up our children or sports.
I have training and experience in a variety of approaches. I have specialised in short term brief therapy, working for years in Primary Care and for a variety of EAP's, as well as long term work using Gestalt Therapy and the ideas of Jung. I see clients irregularly (once a fortnight or once a month - although this is usually when we have known oneanother for sometime) depending on their need and what they want and need from our work, once a week or three or four times a week. When we meet for the first time, we will decide what is right for you.
I also have training in working with Personality Disorders.
In the last 5 years I have been instrumental in bringing the work of Prof Gilles Delisle on Object Relational Gestalt Therapy (ORGT) to the UK, setting up and running workshops and Supervised Practicums.
At present I have space on a Monday afternoon/evening and Wednesday evenings.
